KDEInit Problems

Earlier, I noticed that the Gaim system tray icon is run under the process "kdeinit". It used to load on KDE3 startup, but now it doesn't. Nothing in Gaim has changed, and I don't recall doing anything to KDEInit. KDE System Guard even says that "kdeinit" is running, but Gaim won't load on startup anymore. What can I do to fix this?

kdeinit can be several processes, but I wouldn't expect any non KDE program be running as kdeinit, especially not a GTK application.
