Problem with K menu items and MIME types

I can't change/remove K menu items with menu editor. I can't edit MIME types using kcontrol. Permissions are OK and the changes I do are really appear inside my ~/.kde dir (it is a link to .kde3.3)! It looks like KDE writes into ~/.kde3.3, but do not want to read from there later!

My distro is Gentoo and I asked this question already at Gentoo's forum, but nobody know there how to fix it. Removing all kde-related stuff of my user from /tmp doesn't helped me.

Any ideas?
