Konqueror and the case of the missing menu bar

when i open Konqueror, everthing is fine. but, when i go to type a URL in the location bar and hit enter, or click on a bookmark, i suddenly lose the menu bar (i.e. the bar at the top with "Location," "Edit," etc. on it).

does anyone know why this happens, and how to make it stop? or at the very least, make it so the bookmarks menu option is still available?

i'm running on AMD64, so might this be a 64bit related bug?

well, i found out how to make it come back. (ctrl-M) but, for future reference is there a setting or anything that will make it so i cannot disappear again?
