After Installing Gcc_3.3.3, Kde crashes

After installing GCC_3.3.3 in Red Hat Linux 8.0, when restarted
the kde crashes giving the warning

"Couldn,t start kdeint, Check your installation"
"There was an error setting up IPC for KDE, The message return by the system
was: /root/.DCOPserver_localhost.localdomain_0"
"Please check that the "DCOPserver" program is running"
"Couldn't start ksmserver, check your installation"

Any suggestions for recovery?
