Back-Up - Which is the best policy???

I'm using Kurumin 3.2 (a Brazilian flavor of Knoppix) and Kde 3.2.3.

I'm a home user with 4 accounts in the same machine.

I have Linux installed in hda2, Swap in hda3 and data in hda6.

Still have Windows xp in hda1 and its data in hda5 ( Xp takes care of its own data and installation backup).
Thanks a lot.

I think I forgot to ask what I really need.
How can I make a backup of my installation? And (as I keep all data in another partition) how can I make backup of my data.
Not to compare but windows xp has a restore point. It takes care of backing up the last good installation. Also has an application to make the backup of the data. Is there anything similar for linux?
Thanks a lot.
