Start here: /usr/kde/3.3/share/icons

You'll need to sift through whatever icon theme you are using.
-- rm -fr /etc/whitehouse
-- Gentoo | udev | Xorg 6.8.2 | 2.6.14-r4 | KDE 3.5.0

Just a sugestion...

Instead of messing with the icons under the directory `kde-config --prefix` you can replicate the structure under ~/.kde and achieve the same effect.

KDE uses whatever is unde .kde first and the go to the defaults.

The drawback to m4ktub's suggestion is it would only apply to the individual user. If you want to change icons system wide, the directory I suggest is the way to go...

Either way, both will achieve the exact same results so you need to choose what works for you.

well, renamed default icons for the icon theme i was using, thanks amoeba

couldnt find anything under ~/.kde, nothing in there having to do with icons

there should be a better way to do this though you would think. i mean i can create a link on the desktop and go to the properties page for that icon and change the icon, i can do that for the Home link also, why cant this be done with the trash can icon? renaming files and copying them into folders is fine, but time consuming and not very user friendly. i guess i could just make my own icon theme and do it that way.....

anyway, got the trash icon changed, thanks all.
