I like my X windows X cursor!
Where are the KDE icons/cursors kept? I'd like to change out my cursor for the old X one... thx
Only with XFree 4.3 or more
hello
before KDE 3.2
- Create the directory ~/.icons/default
- Place index.theme into ~/.icons/default
- Place cursors into ~/.icons/default/cursors
- Restart KDE
after KDE 3.2
-Control Panel
-Menu Mouse
-Add Mouse Theme
I tried to do that with a theme downloaded from kde-look.org. Control Center wouldn't accept ANYTHING as a valid cursor archive, not even the ones already installed. What's the secret?

Try not extracting them and use the Control Center installer. That seemed to work for me.
"Chopsticks require a person to use 64 muscles and 30 articulate movements simultaneously, which also acts in developing brain potential."
Perhaps you could explain, then. Control Center will only accept a single file to install. A cursor archive is more than one file and it won't accept any of the files in the archive. Neither will it accept the zip archive as a cursor archive. Pray tell, what should I offer it? Placing the archive directly in the X11 icons folder and running
SuSEconfig also fails.

Never mind, I think I was thinking of splash screens. However, try
crystal xcursors. It comes with an installer script that works and the themes should automatically show up in the Control Center once you run it. It's a pretty good looking theme as well.
