Thumbnails position and icons...

Hi guys,
I've some observations on some kde behaviours:

1) Thumbnails.
I would like to have them centered both horizontally and vertically. Now they are centered only horizontally, but they are placed on the very bottom, near the filename.

2) Giving personalized icons to directories.
When I chose an icon for a dir, it is changed. If I enter in the dir, the small icon placed upper left (plastik window decorations) does NOT update to the icon I've choosen!
