SuSE 8.2 Pro & Theme
In my user account I installed the Moonscape theme and was subsequently unable to log in. The background comes up and the tool bar at the bottom, but it never completes login. I was advised by a friend to rename the .kde folder to kde.old and KDE woul regenerate the .kde folder sans selected theme. All true but I need to recover the original .kde (now .kde.old) what items (files) do I need to apply "fixes" to?
Thanks for the help in advance

Hi I have very similar problem in the past and I followed very similar fix but after all I did was moving out of the old kde all the specific stuff I wanted by copying things from kde.old to kde in the same location.
I hope that this help!

SuSE 8.2 Pro & Theme
This is still hosed up. It appears that the broke is in KDE. I can create a new account and to make it unusable all I have to do is go to KDE Control Center, Theme Manager, click on default theme and the account is no longer usable. IE. goes to la la land and never returns. I will be loading SuSE 9.0 Pro as the fix and hope it works (laptop Dell 8200 w/ Nvidia).

Log in under another WM
How about logging in under that butt-ugly Gnome or something else and uninstalling all the KDE rpm's and reinstalling them? That should fix it. The SuSE 9.0 thing is a good idea, but it's not shipping untill 10/24 and it'll take at least a week to get it after that.
BTW: What KDE version do you use?
Expect the worst, it's the least you can do.
