Battery status in KDE 3.1.4

Hi.

I use mandrake 9.2. I have a centrino notebook, and I got acpi to work, at least i think i did. I'm fairly new to linux so I'm not sure.
in /proc/acpi/* i can see my battery status, processor speed and so on, and when i write acpi in the command promt, i get my battery status. Also when I press the power button, the computer shuts down, and the screen turns off, when I close the lid.
This i all fine, but my problem is, that I can't see my battery status in KDE. If I log out and log in again, the powerstatus shows, but that is not optimal
lsmod shows that battery ect is loaded, and modprobe battery, ac ect doesn't help. Any ideas?
