How to install the printer onto my linux box?

Dear all
I'm trying to install my printer onto my linux box. I'm stuck. I'm running KDE 2.2.2 and Debian Linux r3.0 with kernel 2.2.25. I have installed CUPS and kdelibs3-cups before. I tried to configured my printer with 'control center' in KDE. When I tested the printer, it didn't work. The print state was first 'processing' and then 'stopped'. The job was showed 'queued'.

In fact, my printer URI is set as '/dev/unknow-parallel0' by default, but I can't find it. I don't know what else device should I try.

In addition, I can't find a driver exactly for my printer. My printer is EPSON Stylus 820. I choosed 'Stylus Color Series' under 'EPS' as the driver. Which driver can work with my printer?

Do you have any solution to my question? Please tell me. Thanks first.

Try configuring your URI as
parallel:/dev/lp0

Go to http://localhost:631 to configure your printer through a web-based interface. That's how I did it.
