problem with shortcut key feature of kde

use the menu editor to assign an app to a shortcut key combination (for example, ctrl-alt-S will bring up my Konsole.

Problem is, every time I hit ctrl-alt-S again, it invokes a new instance of the Konsole, but I want it to simply bring focus to the first Konsole then I invoked with the shortcut, like it does in that other OS.

Any ideas how to get the shortcut keys to focus the first instance instead of invoking new instances? thanks....

It depends on the applicatin your using. If tha application is smart enough to notice running instances and giving that one the focus, in stead of starting a new process, then you could achieve what u desire.
However, most linux application start new instances when called.
To check out if konsole supports wat you want, start konsole from the commandline with konsole --help to see if there are options available.
