q2+OpenGL

Hi! I recently installed quake2 on my Slackware 9.1 with kde3.2. It works fine but... when I try to lunch it with OpenGL, everything goes extremely slow. It's about 2fps. I've Radeon9000pro, working just fine without any "bonus" drivers. (kde seems to "see" it, showing the properly graphic device). The same problem is with the OpenGL screensavers, they work, but everything goes very slow... My computer is fast, so it's not about the CPU :) Can anyone help me?

Thanks anyway, sorry 4 my english.
/D!lbert

The standard drivers have no 3d-acceleration you should install the drivers from ATI. (On the Website of ATI)
DevCounter ( http://devcounter.berlios.de/ )
An open, free & independent developer pool
created to help developers find other developers, help,
testers and new project members.

I've tried... Under my slack it's very shitty buisness, drivers are rpm only but the problem is that, kde just doesn't start with the prepared XF86config for my radeon. I tried with 2.6.5 kernel, i tried with my good old 2.4.24 and the result is the same... shit. Maybe i'm doin' smth. wrong. i don't know...
