Panel icon size

I was using Suse Linux 9.1 with KDE 3.2.1 I just upgraded to 3.3

On 3.2.1 I had two panels. One had only quicklaunch icons that were about 96 pixels. When I changed the size of the panel (using "custom size") the icon sizes would also change.

With the new KDE 3.3, the sizes will change if I select one of the presets (tiny, normal, large, etc.) but if I select "custom" and make it larger than 48, the icons still remain only 48. In the Control Center, under "icons" and "advanced" the panel icon size is greyed out. So, I manualyl edited the globals file. No matter what size I put, the actual icon size remains 48.

It's not crucial, but it is bugging me. Any suggestions?
