I was wondering reading this topic why Open Source desktop always mimic well known commercial ones. Why could nt innovation come from us instead of from the M$ or Apple ones ?
Just a thought....

I think the kmenu is generally good the way it is. That being said, it would be nice to add some functionality to it by allowing for appliets to be run inside of kmenu itself.
That being said. Skins are horrible... themeabillity is overrated and almost worthless from usability standpoint. The suggest change to kmenu makes it look/act more like XP style menu (which is visually attractive but functionally a step backwards... not to mention a usability nightmare!)

I think the KDE menu should be fully flexible in therms of content and look... just lets make it skinable ans then everybody could use a favorite look and feel...
cheers - pistooli
