KDE 3.1 Resolution - Screen Size!
I am quite new to linux and KDE. But when i installed it KDE loads as a small box in the middle of my screen with a very thick black border. I assume this is not meant to happen. I went to the XF86config-4 file to have a look at the settings and I changed these to a 800x600 instead of 1024x768 but all this did was made me scroll around the larger desktop in the small box. The desktop had increased in size but restricted to this small box.
I am running it on a laptop and I have run out of ideas to change it as there is no config program in KDE. Could you please please help me.
Try defining the correct monitor which can handle the correct resolution. You cant use 1024x768 if u only have a 800x600 monitor configured.
Thanks, I managed to get it to work eventually. I just kept increasing resolution and screen size together and testing it until it works.
