Change icon size on main panel

I'm new to KDE from Gnome, and I love it! I don't know why I didn't switch earlier.

I'm having a problem. I want my main panel (or is it kicker?) to be double-wide, because I run a lot of applications at once. However, when I make it wider, the application icons on the left are suddenly huge! I hate to say it, but in Windows they would just double up too. After going through the configuration and the KDE help, I can't find a thing about changing their size. Any ideas?

Resizing kicker

Hi,

When you resize the kicker the icons on it are resized accordingly (I don't know a way of changing this behaviour).

If you have lots of applications running you will see them in the taskbar and applet running in the kicker and have nothing to do with the other icons in the kicker. These are just shortcuts to apps.

If you want lots of these to be available you can add panel extensions and put them there. These can be autohiding (freeing desktop space) and have the size you choose.

My solution was to add a Quick Launcher applet; the icons are small and do double up, much like Windows's Quicklaunch toolbar. They're equally as unconfigurable (and even moreso, for you can't right-click on the individual icons), but fortunately, I have them as I want them and am (reasonably) satiated. :)
