App links not saving

I searched the forum for a while, but did not find an answer to this particular problem. Here is the History: I added a button to the taskbar for launching mozilla back in my KDE 2.x days. I have upgraded to KDE 3.x and a newer version of Mozilla. I updated the link to mozilla to the new version. Here is my problem. The app link on the Mozilla button often reverts back to the old link occasionally. How do I stop it from reverting back to the old link?

P.S. It also turns off the "Pager" multiple desktop applet when this happens for some reason.
Admire my witty sig.

This is just a guess! Look for the mozilla link (some .desktop file) in /usr/kde/.../share/applnk). There can be more instances of such files in kde and it seems, that sometimes your KDE is using a different file. The file could also be in some other location (.kde2). Which dirs are searched is determined by the $KDEDIRS (with S at the end) env-var!

check this one out (found it lately).

I am still looking for some more documentation concerning these topics, so please tell me, if you find more of these!

Looks like a script running wild ...

If you don't need KDE2 anymore you should rename or remove you ~/.kde2 directory.
otherwise you should update the Mozilla-Link in KDE2 too.
you also can spot the script and repair it

In /opt/kde(3)/share/applnk are the entries of the startmenu. If you place the Link on the kicker itself or on of its subbars check the config files of kicker ...
