Upgrading is unbearable :-))

Hello,
I tried to upgrade from RH7.3 to RH9. Everything worked fine, but the KDE exterior changed drastically. Everything looks different, not as it was in my installation I worked for about 2 years. I was very pleased with what I had and now I must start a long work of searching fonts, colors, settings, etc. to achive similarity to what I had in RH7.3!
This work looked so hard and unpleasant, that I returned my RH7.3. back!!! (I had backups) and now I feel like a stupid child...:-))
But after some thinking, I started to hesitate - may be I did something incorrect? It can not be so, that there is no compatibility at all between two sequential versions of KDE/X.
I shall be very obliged to those who can comment this somehow and suggest something...

Well, you distributor chose to modify KDE that way.

If you don't like it, tell them or change distribution.

Bluecurve started immidiately on RH 8.0 which did come after 7.3 so your first guess was correct. I personally don't like the fact that RH replaced most of the default KDE apps in 8.0 with Gnome apps.
