kdm user list

Is there any way to stop KDM from calling users "Nobody#1", "Nobody#2", etc., in the user list? I find it really annoying....

Thanks

As far as I know, KDM shows the userID and the name of the user, and pulls that from the userdatabase of the machine it's running on (unless you're using NIS). If it shows 'Nobody #1' (etc) for users, I assume you haven't filled in any names for the other users. The solution would be to go to KUser (under the System group) and fill out the user details for those users. :P

No wonder nobody replied to me before now -- they probably had no idea what I was talking about, since it now occurs to me that I'm the one that entered "Nobody#1", "Nobody#2", etc., as the users' "Real Name" field in /etc/passwd when I set up my machine.

Some quick work with chfn and it's finally solved.

Thanks!!!
