[kopete] unable to open urls in firefox

[kopete] unable to open urls in firefox

Using suse 9.1, kopete 0.8.1

when I click on an url that someone has 'chatted' to me, it returns the following error:::
'/var/tmp/kdecache-troyc/krun/23501.0.' cannot be found. Please check the location and try again. [where 23501.0. changes each time]

is there something special I need to do to get kopete to open the url in firefox? [firefox does spin up, but w/ an empty page]...
