Disable middle click load URL?

Well I've grown to live with the X tradition of middleclick + paste, and even it miss it sometimes on windows, but I cannot stand how just selecting a URL in the address bar and accidentally pressing the mouse button loads the URL!!

Firefox fixes this with allowing you to change an option in about:config (middlemouse.contentLoadURL -> false) but its unfortunately pretty slow compared to my KDE apps..is there any such fix for Konqueror?

BTW it seems FF is broken with this behavior as well but worse! When you select autoscroll in preferences, it tries to load the URL at the same time

Well konq does not behave like that on my box,

are you running klipper?
it is kde clipdboard, very convenient when the thing you want to paste is not the last you have selected, but annoying when it tries to launch url automatically,
so then make sure that actions are not actived in klipper
