Mark as Spam?

I've found that you can mark messages as spam in Kmail... however I don't see what it actually does. Other than, of course marking it with an icon declaring it as spam. I've searched, and haven't found any options to filter messages based on being marked as spam. Or an option to move them to a Trash or Junk folder based on being tagged. Is there an option somewhere I'm just missing?

Also (forgive my noobness), what exactly is Ham? I also see a Mark as Ham option in the context menus.

Any non-spam email. :-)
If you collect spam and ham in two separate folders you can
use it to train a spam filter. Haven't done so myself yet, though.
