kopete 0.8 : lost "file" menu in chat window

Hello,

I use kopete 0.8.0 packaged with KDE 3.2 branch 20040204. It has been packaged for Debian by someone here : deb http://rs.fuzz.nl/muesli/686/kde_head/ unstable/

So I have kde 3.2 and Debian testing/unstable.

I played with layout of toolbars in a chat window by dragging toolbars and changing position and orientation. I came across a problem when right-clicking a toolbar, choosing "orientation" and then, "reduced", instead of "top", "bottom" etc.

I don't see the toolbar anymore and am unable to make it appear again... the existing toolbars are checked in configuration to be visible (right-click, toolbars, show:...)
So did I also with the File menu :'(

This means I am unable to send a file using MSN protocol because I have lost access to the menu.

I hope you can help me :
- either showing the lost "file" etc menu toolbar again
- or helping me _fully removing_ kopete and reinstalling. I tried the following but it didn't work (layout and contacts were still kept) : apt-get remove --purge kopete, removing ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete*, /usr/share/apps/kopete.

I didn't use KWallet. So I wonder why ome elements of preferences (layout of toolbars in chat window) are still kept, and where ? The other preferences have been reset.

Thanks a lot,

Barbara

PS, edit : I also hide the "file" menu from main window by right-click on main window and unchecking "show file menu" or alike, big oops. How can I reset it ??

Control + M

Again :

I have found that Control + M gives me the file menu back (hides/unhides it), it was hard to find, and right-click showed this Control + M option only in main window, not in chat window.

Maybe it could be some light improvement to make "show file menu" visible somewhere in the options related to layout of chat window, when one right-clicks :-)

Just my two cents.
