connection problem with Kmail

I cannot connect to my ISP mail servers even though I'm sure I've configured them correctly.

I also cannot access my mail accounts via my ISP's website the message says I'm using a different
browser.

This is true I usually use IE6. I am new to Linux.

Any help will be appreciated

Kmail connection problem

I get one message within the Kmail application (ie) unable to connect with server... this when I attempt to download mail.

The other message is on the ISP's website ...when I log on to read mail I get .. You have either logged in incorrectly or are using a different browser. I amm not allowed access to my mail

My ISP blames my Linux application.

Check what the output of the terminal window is for kmail. Is there a weird output?

Secondly, is it safe to assume that you are only using standard configuration, like POP3 and SMTP?

Kmail Connection problem

Second question answer first yes standard pop3 smtp configuration.

I did say I was new to Linux so I'm not sure I carried out the second operation correctly.
I opened Kmail Then opened a terminal window and then connected to Kmail.
Nothing at all happened in the terminal and the message in Kmail was "error connecting to ISP"
