open and open with

open and open with

i was looking at email attachments in kmail by right clicking on them and selecting "open". then i needed to use gimp, so i used "open with...". now whenever i choose plain "open", it opens with gimp. how do i change the default behavior of open back to kwickshow?

Right click and select 'open with', then type or select kwickshow. Before clicking ok make sure that the box that says: "Remember applications associations for files of this type" is selected and then kwickshow will be the default target for opening said files.

cool thanks. is there any kinda control panel that controls these file associations? also, the default behavior for konq when i click on a compressed file is to open it with the ark plugin. i want default behavior to ask me to save it...how do i do that?
