How do you get kopete to send when you press enter?
I am accustomed to aim where i press enter and the message sends and kopete won't do that. It gets annoying having to grab the mouse and press send after every message. I looked up and down the config options and i can't find anything to turn it on. If somebody knows how to fix this and save me from getting a kink in my neck from grabing my mouse i will be very thankful.

You could try to bind the action that sends a message to a keyboard shortcut. Not sure if this works with the Enter key in a sane fashion, though. If it doesn't you could still bind it to Ctrl-Enter, for example.
Have a look at the menu Settings -> Configure Shortcuts
Thanks,
It will take a little while getting use to ctrl + enter but it beats clicking.

Have you tried to bind the Enter key first and it doesn't work?

Click on the button that says Ctrl+enter en press enter.
In order to fix this problem you must first open a chat window. You have to go to settings - configure shortcuts from the chat windows _not_ from the buddy list window or the system tray icon. In the configure shortcuts window you opened from the chat window you simply change the shortcut for send message from ctrl+enter to enter.
Cool, I didn't know the config. shortcuts were different in the actual chat window. Well all is well now and i have it sending when i press enter. Thanks for the help everybody. I don't know where i would be at trying to learn linux without this forum. Probbally back on windows *shudders*
