Hello everybody,

It's been a long time since I use Kopete and I've always built my own RPMs. They've always been available at my website, but since it is in spanish (and veeeeery low traffic, I must admit) I thought it was time to post it here.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion but I don't think the authors would want to put my package in the downloads section at all. My SuSE distro is quite up to date, so users with a fresh install of it might have dependencies problems, I can't chek that.

Also I can't guarantee everything will work fine (as if every plugin is there, or if file permissions are as secure as they could be, etc.), so if my package is missing something, the authors, and probably not me, will be getting emails asking things that otherwise they wouldn't get.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but for the moment, those who want can check the forums and find my package there.

Indeed the error message is not very helpful. You should try running rpm with -vv option to get some debugging information.

As to what to do with the segv, you might want to check ltrace's ouput: 'ltrace kopete' and maybe strace's too ('strace kopete'). These programs intercept and record dynamic libary calls and system calls respectively. In their ouput you might find useful information.
