SuSE/KDE and Windowz 2000: Sharing Services

I hope this is not a repetive topic from before.

I have 2 SuSE 9.0 boxes and a legit Win2kPro box.
Now on my Win2k box I have my printer setup for sharing and I install the Unix LPR option.

On my SuSE 9.0 Personal, I can not even map a printer to it.
Also, I can not see a share on the Win2k box either.
Both boxes are on the same workgroup.

Is anybody good with these situations ?

All I want to accomplish is to share service on my home lan on both Linux and Windowz.

thanks,
Jason

Perhaps you have to change the security level of the SAMBA server.
Edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file and change
security = user
to
security = share
or add this line to the [global] section, it it does not exist.

You also have to add the following line to that section:

encrypt passwords = yes

I also recommend to install KSambaPlugin http://ksambakdeplugin.sourceforge.net/, for a graphical configuration.

Greetings,
Jan
