Kopete Problem With User Not in Contact List

I'm seeing an issue with Kopete and have not been able to find an answer. If someone who is not in my contact list sends me a message, the chat dialog box pops up, but if I try to reply, Kopete tells me that user is offline.

The "Not in Contact List" group pops up in the contact window, but nothing appears under it.

I've seen this with AIM users as well as Jabber users. Kopete sometimes crashes on exit after this has happened, but not every time.

Anyone else seeing this?

try adding them to your contact list?
or perhaps they are on invisible. It doesnt happen to me.
