Konqueror not lanuching under my user but ok under root

I have a problem to launch konqueror as a web browser or file manager under my current user after trying to get kmail to launch konqueror when clicking on a link, I found out how I can fix my kmail problem but cannot find any tips on why konqueror is not lanuching under my current user but ok under root, some tips where to remove the .kde dir but I hope there is a better way.

before killing the .kde dir you can try to remove the configs of konqueror from .kde/share/config, maybe this will help...

Do you get any errors when starting konqueror from the shell?

If so please post them, and we might get a better idea of what is happening.
