K-mail doesn't mark messages as read messages anymore

I am having a problem with k-mail
All new messages keep on marked as unread ,
If I mark them all as read and go to another folder or quit the programm than the messages keep on being displayed as unread.

I am using suse Linux 8.1 and k-mail 1.5.2.

If anyone knows how to solve this problem please let me know !

I tried the following :

Change setting under folder for Mark message as read after x second,

Please help me
