konqueror on iPAQ

hello.

I'm currently installing konqueror as my web browser on my ipaq. I downloaded konqueror-snapshot-full_0.9.1-20020912.2_arm.ipk on another pc and transfered it to my ipaq using scp command. now, i have the package on my ipaq and install it using "ipkg install <filename>". my installation was successful as it shows these lines:

Installing konqueror-snapshot-full (0.9.1-20020912.2)
Configuring konqueror-snapshot-full...Done

After this, I run konqueror. Konqueror window was displayed. I entered the proxy address. However, visiting any site gives me this problem:

Timeout on server
Timed out while waiting to connect to www.kde.org

Up to this point, I dont know what to do. Can anyone help me with this?

Anyway, my set-up consist of a PC-based Access Point with routing capability. I have configured IP masquerading. My ipaq connection to the access point is wireless. I can successfully ping any computer on the LAN, but still I cant browse the net using Konqueror.

Thanks for any help in advance

It sounds like your DNS (Domain Name Server) addresses are not set up correctly.

Did you use DHCP or did you manually assign an IP address?
I assume you are using familiar? I am not familiar  with it as I use a zaurus so I cannot give you exact directions. What interface are you using - Opie?

b.t.w: You should try and use forums for linux handhelds to get better support on them :) http://www.zaurus.com/dev/board/

I manually assign the IP address.
Yup, I used familiar v0.6.1 and use Opie as the interface.

Yesterday, I changed my configuratin on the proxy of the konqueror. I added the port with the proxy(http://proxy:3128). Before I just placed the proxy IP address without the port (http://proxy) because I thought, it was automatically configured by the konqueror. Unlike the konqueror for desktop PC, there's no field where you can place the port number.

With my current configuration, the connection doesn't timed out anymore. But the problem now is that the screen flickers and it seems like it lost its connection with the access point. Do you encounter the same problem like this with konqueror?

thanks...

I don't use proxy at the moment even though I go through the firewall at work and home.
As you manually entered an IP, did you assign the gateway IP and DNS entries?

Hi. My iPAQ seems to work well now. I can surf the net now without the issue of flickering and server timeout. I think the flickering is caused by power/battery of the iPAQ.

Yah. I put all those IP addresses, DNS, etc.

However, I still have one problem left. As I browsed any site, images are not loaded. But I have the libjpeg in my package list installed. Is this not enough? Do I need to install other packages? Or is there something else for me to configure?

Thanks again for your suggestions. It's really good that at the least, I can now use konqueror for my iPAQ, although no images yet.
