what kind of a network do you have? most distrobutions will automatically detect and configure your ethernet card, and more so theres increasing support for wireless devices.

What happen if you type 'ping www.google.fr' in a Konsole ?
What type of connection do you use ? (Ethernet, modem, wireless...)

Souds like a DNS problem.

Perhaps you haven't set the DNS servers correctly during install or, if you use DHCP, the DHCP server didn't tell you the correct one.
