kmail won't send any email

I can't get kmail to send any mail. I have my send account configured correctly, but the email just sits in the outbox. When I attempt to send queued mail, I get the text "Failed to send (some) queued messages" in the status bar but nothing else. Is there anyway to see what might be wrong?

I'm using Fedora Core 2, which is kmail 1.6.2.

Thanks

Try starting it from the konsole. It might show some debug messages there.

It didn't show any. Either my ISP's server wasn't working, or there's a bug in Fedora Core 2's kmail. I installed Ubuntu and tried Evolution and kmail and they both work ok.

Thanks

Another suggestion...

When I used Fedora Core 1 I managed software with apt-get.

There is also a site dedicated to promote KDE in the Red Hat/Fedora. They have an apt-get (an now yum too) repository and they correct some issues of KDE in the Fedora platform (I think).

Visit http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/ and try to update KDE from them. Their stable KDE is 3.3.1 so you also get the latest KDE ;-)

Hey thanks for the info. I downloaded Fedora Core 3 Test 3, which includes KDE 3.3. Kmail works just nicely now!

THanks a lot
