Adding new fonts

Hello,

I'm running KDE on SuSE 8.2. I have tried to install my windows TT fonts to add to the fotns available in KOffice. The installation seems ot work but the fonts do not appear in the drop down fonts box on the task bar in KWord. The fonts are present in my home .fonts directory. Any ideas what might be going wrong?

How do you have added the fonts? With KDE?

Otherwise in a console, type xlsfonts and try to find those fonts in the list.

Have a nice day!

Hello Nicolas,

I added them using KDE Control Centre.

xlsfonts produces a long, long list that seems to include the fonts I added.

When I first added them and went into KWord they were there in the drop down list. The next day I went into KWord again and they had disappeared and have never returned!

I have no idea what it might. :(

Could you look at the font substitutions in qtconfig ? Select each of your (missing) fonts and verify that they do not get substitued.

Also do the fonts appear in the font dialogs of KWord?

Have a nice day!

Nicolas,

Forgive me being dim - how do I get into qtconfig?

qtconfig is the name of the program. If it is nowhere to see, try to start it from Konsole. (If you have not compiled Qt yourself, may be the program is not even installed at all.)

Have a nice day!
