Gstreamer and arts

Hi.

I am using amarok to play music (it is fantastic) and I use gstreamer
like engine.

However, I have a problem. When I play other sound source I can not
listen until amarok finish.

I used arts but I leave it because I read gstreamer is better than it.
And it was a bad solution today.

My question is: if I configure amarok to use gstreamer and I conduct
its output to arts. The sound will lose quality?

Other question: Is there any plugin for amarok or gstreamer for SuSE
9.2 to play mpeg4 audio files (acc or m4a) in amarok?

Thanks.

You need to be using dmix.

check the amarok faq (http://amarok.kde.org) for instructions how to set up and use dmix!
