Wide screen monitor resolution

I just got kde running and I have a wide screen monitor, none of the resolutions in configure desktop->display fit wide screen, how would I do this? Any help appreciated.

I think this has to be done in the X config file. I've tried adding new resolutions to mine, but they don't show up in KDE's list of resolutions. Does anyone know how to make this work?
