system notifications

hi,
I use kde3.2.1; I have a problem playing sound files in the system notifications.
When I select a sound to be associated to an event, if I try to play it, no sound is played. Also waiting for an event to come is the same.
I tried using an external player (mplayer) and it works great with that.
I can't understand where the problem is, since my aRts works file (every program using the arts output works, and also testing the sound with the "test sound" button in the sound system module works perfecly).
Can anyone help me?

I had thesame problem...............is easy to fix though...........

Have a look at knotifyrc which is located in ~.kde/share/config/.

If "Arts Init" and "Use Arts" are set to "false" set them to "true". System notifications should work then.
