K3b unable to copy from CDROM to CDWriter

I can't copy a CD.
I have 2 cd drives: one CDROM and one CD Writer.
K3b recognizes the CDROM (says Drive: ATAPI) and it can read the contents, but in the burn dlg box, I can't choose the CDROM drive as the read device, only the CDWriter is available.

I can drag'n'drop the contents of the CDROM in order to burn them, but this is not a direct copy

I guess i could use the cd writer for both read and write, making an image of the cd with the cd-writer, then ejecting the cd and asking for a blank cd, but this is not as convenient.

Sometimes I get this error when starting K3b:
Not found - K3b
Could not find the following files:
/devcdrommntcdrom

K3b unable to copy

It could be a SCSI emulation problem. I am not to sure what to do about it, because I don't know what LINUX you are using nor what version of KDE.

Taken from the k3b.org faq:
K3b uses cdrdao for CD copy up to version 0.10.x. Since the most recent version of cdrdao (1.1.7) does not support ATAPI devices you can only select SCSI devices in the copy dialog. To be able to use your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM as reading device you may either enable ide-scsi or install the cvs version of cdrdao which supports ATAPI devices for reading.

cd-rom and cdwriter as scsi?

I had the same problem. My DVD was integrated as ide-atapi and my cd-writer as scsi-emulation. I changed to scsi-emulate both of them. This solved my problem.
