XWave 3000 sound in Linux!

I installed Redhat Linux 8.0 on my computer but it did not discover my sound card. I use XWave Yamaha 3000. I can't listen to any music now! :(

Can anyone help me? Thank you very much for your help!

I am not sure about RH8 but in Suse I would run alsaconf. And I believe from my past experience that in RH you will have to type in setup on a command line to configure things inc. Sound Cards.

Good Luck

I found through a google search that the Xwave 5100 works with the cmpci driver.

One posting on the alsa mailnglist suggests the 3000 works with ALSA's ymfpci driver.

Thank you all of you, but it seems that the installation difficult. Now I've decided to upgrade my sound card. When I change the old card to a new one, it works very well now. :P
