KDE group installation
Hello there,
I have what I thought is a simple question: How do I change the umask of the user when logging in through KDM?. I only found what doesn't work, i.e. .bashrc .bash_profile /etc/profile which only change the behaviour of shells opened on the KDE desktop but not X-programs.
Even if I disable KDM (not really an option for "normal" office users), log in as a standard user with an umask of 002 and then startx - under KDE file creation permissions are still carried out with an umask of 022. Does anybody know which configuration file sets this (maybe even under /etc/X11)? I need help urgently because my users share common directories with the g+s bit on directories set in order to share files.
Right now - if somebody has the same problem - I chmod the rights via cron every 5 minutes in the shared directory - not really an elegant solution.
Thanks a lot,
Thorsten
