Problem Installing KDE at kdelibs

Hello. I'm using RedHat 9 and wanted to give the actual (not the stocked RH version) KDE a try, and so I'm trying to install KDE 3.1.4 from compiling the source. Things were going well until I got to trying to run the make command on kdelibs-3.1.4. The process ends with [code:1]make[4]: *** [kssl.lo] Error 1[/code:1] and right before that there are a series of parse errors in kssl.h between lines 132 & 167. Can anyone help me with this?
