Restarting kde

Hi, after rebooting my computer the toolbar appears without any icons (I can log in on another computer on my accounrt with everything working). I can add buttons without problem but the virtual desktop is not visible and there are no minimized windows. What I would like to do is to restart kde without any of my old settings. I have tried deleting a number of files without. Does anyone know how to deal with this rather trivial issue? Thanks!

Hi,
the best way ist to rename your local kde profile. It's a hidden file and is named .kde (or kde 3.1 or something similar depends on your distro)
Rename this direktory (note you korganizer etc things are stored there!!) and restart KDE.
