Hi,
I don't exectly know what you meen.
You can start a program as supersuser using alt-f2 then kdesu progname.
But I don't think you can change a program's user while it's running.

I am new to linux and thought I would like to look over my file system in Konqueror and then when I've decided what I want to do; I would enter the su mode...do what's needed...and then exit the su mode but remain in Konqueror

Hi,
I search the glibc reference, and found a function which allows a process to change its userid. But this feature is, as far as I know, not (yet?) implemented in konqueror.
