How to applya 3rd party patch with Konstruct?

Does anyone know the syntax for applying a 3rd party Patch using Konstruct. Is the syntax the following:

cd to directory (ex kdebase) -- type "make patch patchname.diff" or can you place the patch in the directory of the file that needs to be patchd and simply type "make patch". Both of these could be wrong so if anyone has some info, it would be greatly appreciated.
