On-the-fly opacity

Before I used KDE4 I loved the Compiz effects on GNOME. One thing I found myself missing in the desktop effects today is an ability to change the opacity of a window with the combination of a hotkey and the mouse wheel. I know I can right click the menubar and change the opacity but what I'm thinking of is a way to change how opaque a window is without having to do multiple clicks.

I don't recall what hotkey Compiz used to trigger the effect but it was a very handy way to see the window below the active window without Alt-Tabbing or multiple mouse clicks. Could something like this even be possible within KDE? If not it's not that big a thing, just something I realized today I wish I could use within KDE.
