KDE Spell Check no longer working

I am using KDE 3.5.10.
As of this weekend spell check stopped working for me for all kde applications.
When I try spell ckecking in Kwrite, Kate, Kile I get the following error:
"The spelling program could not be started. Please make sure you have set the correct spelling program and that it is properly configured and in your PATH."

I tried reinstalling aspell and ispell. Changed the kde components spell check.
Nothing works.
Please help me.
