Saving to Desktop Issues

I recently installed the kubuntu desktop in ubuntu and am trying to use KDE. I am having a bunch of issues tho.. mostly i can work through them but when i download from a website and it downloads to "Desktop" its not appearing on the desktop. Its going to the desktop folder where GNOME reads as my desktop. Granted i can surf to it but i want it to be on my KDE desktop when it downloads.

Any idea why its doing this?
