no sound on my EEE PC

hiya peps.. im a total newbee with kde and finding it very had to use... bt i love a challange... i have a problem with sound on me eeepc 900. it shows that driver is installed bt i cant hear anything... is this a common thing with kde'z or only with eeepc... im gnome user and love ubuntu. bt i wna love this aswell. any info plz send it my way.
